These are some pretty funny ads for the Canadian Marketing Association’s National Convention. They were created by Cundari in Toronto.

Many summers ago, I was laid-off from a job. I had gotten a good chunk of severance money – I think it was about five months worth. Great, right? No so much. After the first week, was indescribably bored and longed for a job. It probably didn’t help that I was living in the suburbs at the time.
I decided that, to keep busy, I would try finishing my unfinished basement. After all, if there are books on dry walling at the local hardware store, it shouldn’t be that hard, right? Several hundred dollars and big, fat mess (me) later, I came to the realization that DIY is not for everyone. And it is worth it to just hire someone. That was a very expensive, very messy lesson to learn. Needless to say that the basement never got finished… in fact, I would use a different F word to describe the state in which I left it.
Maybe that’s why I laughed out loud at each one of these new Lowes ads, by BBDO, New York. I know what these people are feeling.
Another great Super Bowl 2014 ad. This one from Audi for with creative by Venables Bell & Partners. Keep your eyes peeled for a special Canadian guest appearance at 0:26
I had no idea what this ad by Brazilian agency Filadelfia was for… but wow, did it ever deliver. Nice work for client Aeromusica.
I can’t believe I’m actually posting an ad for CLR.
What’s more unbelievable is the fact that I actually like it. It’s funny – a great departure from the typical black-and-white-clumsy-people-with-that-one-guy-who-voices-all-the-infomercials infomercials that they normally do.
This ad is called “First Impressions” and was created by Austin production company Moon Pie Media and directed by newcomer Carter Pagel.
Ugh. Old Spice does it again.
I hate to love this new spot by W+K Portland called “Shower”. It promotes Old Spice’s new bar soap.
But not quite as you know it.
Watching this really makes me wish for summer… and that they would sell booze in the real Apple Stores. A quick pint would – at the very least – make the noise, the line-ups, and the stench of everyone who’s “just looking” a little more bearable.
The internet is boring today.
The best thing I could find was this ad for the Georgia State Lottery by BBDO. It’s funny – except for the woman who comments how everyone will know she’s single because of the kitty book that she gets as a gift.
That’s not funny. It’s a sad, sad truth.
