Cute ad of the day from Publicis.

Now… whatever could they be implying?
But that’s not important.
What’s important is this video created by TBWA to sell the product. I don’t even have a cat, and I live in Canada… but I almost ordered one just because of this video.
This ad from Mother, London is for MoneySuperMarket. (Yep, keep smashing words together to make new ones. That’s my favorite.) I think it’s like a Money Tree or Geico… but to be honest, I’m really not sure. I was distracted by all the cats. I watched this ad three times (because the cats were so cute!) but still couldn’t really tell you what’s being sold here. But that doesn’t matter because CATS!
And I mean like ever, ever. I came across a gif of a cat helping a woman parallel park last week, and I needed to know where it came from. I heard tale it was from a commercial, but I couldn’t for the life of me find the spot.
Until tonight. (Thanks, Omar!)
The spot is in Turkish, but here’s the gist:
There’s this pesky cat who is always up to no good. He’s running around and causing mischief. And when he sees the people from Ipragaz (a Turkish company that provides Liquified Petroleum Gas) the cat tries to open the containers of gas. But sadly (and most likely due to the fact that he has no opposable thumbs) he fails. This shows just how reliable and safe the folks at Ipragaz are.
However, the creative doesn’t really do much for the brand. In fact, I’ve just watched the spot and already forget the name. But still, cats!

Here are a few others featuring Mr. Stroganov.
Created by Saatchi & Saatchi, New Zealand, this spot (called ‘Feels Good Inside’…) stars a ridiculously fluffy cat who falls in love with his owner’s new Toyota Corolla. And this cat will do absolutely anything to take a ride in the new car. Anything.
It’s ‘Adopt a Shelter Cat Month’, brough to you by the folks at the ASPCA. In order to promote this, they decided to make a totally zany kitty video with a dubstep soundtrack. At the end, a super pops up telling you that there are “Millions of Viral Videos Waiting to be Adopted”.
Yep. As I suspected. Viral videos are like hipsters. The moment you declare yourself to be one is the moment you get kicked out of the club. Even still, I was mildly entertained and it IS a good cause.
Over in San Fransisco, BBDO is doing right by the SPCA with this great little public service announcement against puppy mills.(Via)
Informative, fun to watch and it doesn’t violate your ears…as much.
Today’s commercial is for an energy drink called Flying Horse. In the commercial – created by Ogilvy & Mather, Brazil – two guys investigate the laws of physics (kind of) and how to harness the power of cats and toast using the “Buttered Cat Paradox“.
Is the spot good? Meh.
Does it have a cat in it? Yes.
Does the cat make it awesome? Yes!
