Calling all media managers and directors, I have just been informed of three job openings overseas. Here are the details.

Two Media Manager roles available – one in Dubai, and one in Abu Dhabi. Well-known, respectable agency.

Media Managers: $5100-6800 USD Tax free salary per month ($61,200-$81,600 USD Tax Free a year)

Medical/benefits, Vacation, flight home yearly. This is a permanent full-time contract – one month notice period if the employee wants to leave the contract early.   End of service benefits would be paid when employee leaves the company (minimum one year of work) – this works out to 22 days pay of basic salary per year.

Must have Media Planning experience and ideally from the agency side or even if they have done both agency and client side.

Director role: $6800 – $8900 tax-free USD per month and same benefits as above.


Media Manager


Responsible for quality of media planning and buying for the team including development of objectives, strategies and plans and developing skills and knowledge base of the team.  The Media Manager is also responsible for the overall client satisfaction, ensuring that all deliverables are being met in a timely manner and at best quality.

Report directly to Media Director

Job Description

  • Full control on communication planning & strategic output
  • Understand marketing objectives and strategies for all the team’s Clients and ensures media objectives and strategies are on target
  • Provide direction to planners and buyers in the team regarding implementation of media buys ensuring they are consistent with the approved plan
  • Provides training to planners in proper methods of preparing, evaluating and implementing media plans
  • Establish and recommend training needs within the team
  • Involvement in major media negotiations for Clients within their portfolio. This should be in conjunction with the Media Director and Buying Director
  • Functions as a primary contact between Client Service and the Client management for all strategic requests.
  • Provide direction regarding competitive reporting and media planning and carries overall responsibility for preparation, format, interpretation and presentation to Client
  • Maintains strong relationship with media suppliers
  • Responsible for the growth and development of team members ensuring their skills are up to excellent standards
  • Ensuring value added deliverables to clients on a continuous basis
  • Carries out communication planning presentations & reviews
  • Carries out semi-annual & annual reviews
  • Regional planning for accounts, synchronization & regional presentations.
  • Work on pitches & new businesses.
  • Ensure best practices with other teams in the agency.
  • Full responsibility on innovation output of the teams
  • Business Dynamics & profitability analysis
  • Contribute to innovation idea generation
  • Contribute and work on New Business plans
  • Business profitability and financial analysis

Media Director

I. Qualification requirement

Bachelor degree

Minimum 7 years of media planning

II. Role

Drives and leads the media team, interpretation of advertising strategies and is responsible for quality of media planning, presentations and buying for all business of the team. Also responsible for the administration and organization of the team and development of staff.

V. Job Description

  • Full understanding of all Clients marketing strategies and objectives
  • Control of major media strategy and media objectives
  • Quality control of all written media evaluations, recommendations and presentations to Clients
  • Lead new business pitches
  • Pro-actively seek creative media opportunities appropriate to specific clients
  • Provide media opinion on behalf of the agency
  • Remain up-to-date on industry research and drive development in this area
  • Ensure media research and analysis is correctly used in the team
  • Build a strong profile in the industry
  • Involved in all major Client negotiations with the media together with Buying Director
  • Ensure all Client budgets are being controlled
  • Responsible for the professionalism and performance of their team
  • Responsible for the structure of the team to ensure to ensure its smooth operation
  • Ensure the team maintains a good relationship with all clients, media owners and others in the agency
  • Provide training for the team to improve professionalism and keep young talent in the company
  • Advise on resources needed within the team
  • Ensure best practices flow between offices
  • Lead best practices presentations internally with office
  • Contribute to innovation idea generation
  • Set and lead New Business plans
  • Business profitability and financial analysis
  • Set plans increasing profitability on account and agency level.
