Wrong Number

Ever wake up the next morning and feel the urgent need to re-read all of your outgoing text messages from the night before? Most of us have sent the occasional regrettable text message after one too many glasses of Pinot Noir. In fact, there are entire websites dedicated to sharing these drunken texts.

LG Mobile has created a campaign with Y&R New York called “Give It A Ponder”. This public service campaign, which asks people to think twice about what they text, actually won gold in the Television/Cinema/Online Film category at the London International Awards.

In today’s world of instant media, like Facebook and Twitter, where is less than a second you can share your thoughts with every single one of your friends – and a whack of people you never met – I don’t think a semi-humourous ad is going to encourage anyone to think twice about their texts. Especially after another glass of wine. But at least they will entertain you for a minute and a half.
