Science Says

With over five million views in just a few short days, this video has gone uber-viral. Which would normally turn me off from posting it on my blog, but it made me so angry that I had to rant.

This ridiculous video is an ad, created by Del Campo Saatchi & Saatchi for Beldent gum. It’s a totally unscientific experiment where they try to prove that people who chew gum look more friendly and more popular than those who don’t. Especially when those who are not chewing gum have a severe case of Resting Bitch Face.

When you chew gum, especially with your mouth open, you look like cow. Gum snappers, loud chewers, people who spit their gum on the sidewalk… stop it. SWITCH TO MINTS. For those of you who discretely chew your gum and dispose of it properly, carry on.

But science said it will make me more popular!

What does Gravity, a Chicken, & a Monsoon Have in Common?

They’re no match for Samsonite luggage, that’s what!

Saatchi & Saatchi Belgium released this series of three ads for Samsonite luggage. Three great ads that demonstrate the product benefits in a fun, lighthearted, and memorable way.

And Now I See

When I clicked “play” on the following ad, I had no idea what it was for. Created by Saatchi & Saatchi, Sao Paulo, this spot held my attention and kept me interested right up until the end. Then it grossed me out. Then it made me a little disappointed in the weak call-to-action – overly complex font, small website. Then it made me regret Googling the subject matter. (Trust me – don’t do it.)

Who knew you could be a cornea donor? Overall, this was a cute, simple concept for a pretty scary subject. If you want more info about this, or other organ donation, check out BC Transplant. That sticker on your driver’s license is no longer a valid method of becoming a donor.

Super-Pharm, Super Good

Watching the following ads for Super-Pharm is pure joy. Created by Saatchi & Saatchi, Israel, these are fun, entertaining, and right on the money for the target audience.

Perverts, Cheaters & Rats Breath Easy

This print campaign by Saatchi & Saatchi, New Zealand for Texa Allergy was recently on Buzzfeed, where they identified them as “superbly photographed, award-winning ads for allergy relief medicine“.

I like the idea, but the “peeping Tom” shot is a little disturbing.

Feels Good Inside

Chances are that you may have seen this already, but I don’t really care. Because I love it. And this is my blog. Not yours. I need to post it, so it becomes part of my archives.

Created by Saatchi & Saatchi, New Zealand, this spot (called ‘Feels Good Inside’…) stars a ridiculously fluffy cat who falls in love with his owner’s new Toyota Corolla. And this cat will do absolutely anything to take a ride in the new car. Anything.

Bottle Fingers

Del Campo Saatchi & Saatchi, Argentina – the same shop who did those great “Dads in Briefs” ads – has just released a new commercial for Andes Beer.

The spot starts off with impressive cinematography and a storyline that draws you in.

But it falls a little flat at the end. I would have preferred some dramatic Forrest Gump-type finale where Beer-Hands Guy would shake off the bottles in super slow motion while running towards a wide neck bottle. Instead it’s a little abrupt. But hey, at least it’s pretty.

Yaris is on the Line

(See what I did there?)

Toyota Yaris has just launched a new commercial by Badillo Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi, Puerto Rico.

And like the Yaris, the commercial is short and fun. But really it does nothing to sell the car. I was fully expecting it to lead into a more feature-centric ending, but overall it’s a cute little story that lightly tickles my funny bone.

Pelephone Brings Sweet Dreams

I really love this new spot for Pelephone, the Israeli cellular and internet provider. The ads are always very whimsical and reminiscent of a Doctor Seuss book… although this one tends to lean a little bit towards “Where the Wild Things Are”.  This spot was created by Warshavsky & Adler Chomski/ ACW Grey in Tel Aviv.

Here are a few of their other amazing spots, which I’ve posted before. I believe some of these were Grey Group and some were done by BBR Saatchi & Saatchi Tel Aviv.

It’s a Cruel, Cruel Summer

BGH Air Conditioners had a great a great advert last year. The Nose-O-Meter even showed up in the Cannes 2011 reel. The spot was created by Del Campo Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi out of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Now they’re back with a new spot which is equally as great, if not better that the previous. “Dads in Briefs” is absolutely hilarious because, let’s face it, many of us have had to endure this unfortunate experience? (Sorry dad.)

The spot, besides being LOL-worthy, will make those who don’t normally think about air conditioning (women and children) sit up and take notice. It’s no longer just about comfort. It’s about self-preservation. Well played, BGH.

UPDATE:

There are a few other ads in this campaign. Just in case you didn’t get enough.
