I’m Super Campy!

I love camping! As long as there are no more than two people in my ten person tent. And we have a full kitchen set-up. And someone cooks for me. And there are showers, shops, and laundry facilities within short walking distance. And it’s not too hot. And most importantly, there has GOT to be a signal.

That’s not asking too much, right?

Social Farting

Nothing like a good fart joke.

At least that’s what the Ontario Ministry of Health and BBDO thought when they created the following ad for their “Quit the Denial” campaign.

The ad compares social farting to social smoking, highlighting that both stink. Although somewhat of a forced comparison, it’s funny (c’mon, it’s a fart joke) and it has people talking.

Which Way to the Bathroom?

This ad, produced by Markenfilm, gave me a laugh. From what I can gather, it’s telling us that train travel is the best method of travel if you are a drunk, rowdy football fan. My loose translation, based on three years of not paying attention in German class and Yahoo’s Babblefish is as follows;

Rowdy bunch in the car, having a good time. One man says “I need to take a piss.”

Super: “That only works on the train.”

Followed by a slate which reads: “Cheap travel for you and your friends, with any Bundesliga-Ticket and Deutsche Bahn.” I don’t know what that last part means, but it’s not important. Enjoy.

It’s True About the Broccoli

Based in the UK, FACE (Farming and Countryside Education) is a charity which provides more than just food. They educate kids on farming so they can understand where their food comes from. They actually take kids out to the farm and talk about how food is processed, grown and how it ends up on their plates. They are raising awareness for their campaign with this hilarious intro video done by Grey, London.

What Have I Become?

I’m posting these because they made me look twice. And then I laughed. Quietly.

The tagline: “Help a fruit turn into juice.” In other words, help save a fruit from an unsavoury ending (pun intended). Creative agency: Propeg, Bahia, Brazil.

Not Everything Gets Better With Age

Always remember, one day you will get old and wrinkly. Your stretched ears, tattoos and breast implants won’t always look that good… oh, and invest in a pension. That’s the message from Norwegian financial institution NB NOR. Ad was created by TRY Advertising.

Roll Over!

About 100 million people snore in North America. That adds up to a lot of sleepless nights and jabs to the ribs. There’s nothing worse than laying in bed, trying to fall asleep and all you can hear is the person next to you wheezing and snorting. With their every inhale, your body clenches and you toss and turn trying to find the perfect position where it’s comfortable to fall asleep with your fingers in your ears. I’ve experienced this first hand and let me tell you, it’s not good for a relationship.

Which brings us to today’s ads. Asonor, a stop snoring spray has released this print campaign to give back your bedfellow’s dreams. The creative was done by Grey, Paris.  A funny concept, yes. But it doesn’t make me want to buy the product. After my experience with a snoring mate, I know that throat sprays tend to wear off before I even get close to falling asleep. Which in turn would usually result in my partner waking up with bruised ribs .

Can You Hear Me Now?

The older I get, the more selective my hearing becomes. At least that’s what I like to say. The fact that I don’t reply when someone speaks to me is in no way related to any sort of hearing loss….

But truthfully, I don’t think I’ve ever had a hearing test. Exactly what the “Big Noise” campaign from Specsavers is promoting. The creative is directed toward a “younger audience of over 50s”. It’s a reminder to get their hearing checked. This ad is brilliant. The creative is humorous and relates perfectly to the product being promoted. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

Cows Make Butter. Seriously.

New Zealand cows work hard to make their butter. And the cows from Anchor Dairy are no exception. They do EVERYTHING! From making the milk, to quality control, to packaging and loading the trucks. This ad gets four enthusiastic hooves up from me. And the icing on the Oreo? A down-home rendition of Guns and Roses Paradise City. It’s moosic to my ears. (Wahh wahh!)

The Life Of Drama Queens

The following ad if for a student film festival, Cinestud International Student Film Festival. It’s the 50th anniversary of the festival and they wanted to draw attention. This is as attention-getting as it is eye-brow-raising. I really like it. It’s smart, engaging and poignant. And I can relate to the little girl. All she wants is a creative outlet.

And this one is just a bonus:
